War (Russian Title: Voyna/Война) is a 2002 Russian war drama directed by Aleksey Balabanov. Chechen guerilla leader Aslan holds captive a few people, among them two British actors (John and his fiancee Margaret), an injured Russian captain, Medvedev, and a Russian soldier, Ivan Ermakov. Aslan sets John free to return to Britain to collect money to ransom his fiancee back. As a gesture of generosity he also lets Ivan go. Some time later John finds Ivan and begs him to help him rescue Margaret.
