Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
The following weapons are used in the video game Battlefield: Bad Company:
Battlefield Bad Company is the first of the Bad Company branch on EA's highly successful Battlefield franchise. The game itself revolves around a single squad during an unclear conflict between USA and Russian forces. The game itself was praised for it's unique destructive features, powered by the Frostbite engine, which allow a greater deal of realism to be introduced to the player. Buildings in particular suffer damage to a degree that only the frame will remain. However, it will not collapse entirely, due to balance and gameplay stability reasons. The sequel, however, allows buildings to be completely decimated.
Battlefield Bad Company was also the first to feature pre-order in-game bonuses, in this case 5 weapons. The obvious purpose being marketing as well as to build a greater demand for the game, though the weapons themselves can be unlocked through the same "L33tspeak" codes (with exception of a select few), and do not feature any unique coding systems.
Handguns
Beretta M9
The Beretta M9 is the handgun that is paired with the Barrett M95 and other American guns. Somehow this pistol is more effective than some assault rifles.
MP-412 REX
The MP-412 REX is the revolver that is paired with the GOL sniper rifle and other Middle Eastern guns. Deadlier than even the M9.
MP-443 Grach
The MP-443 Grach is the pistol that is paired with the SV-98 and other Russian guns. Similar stats to the M9. On the mission "Crash and Grab", an MP-443 paired with grenades is the player's starting weapon.
Submachine Guns
PP-2000
The PP-2000 is used by some Russian specialist troops. This weapon has the highest rate of fire of any gun in the game, but poor accuracy and damage. It also has a Silencer attached.
Heckler & Koch UMP
The Heckler & Koch UMP is used by some of the Legionnaire's specialist troops. The UMP has the slowest rate of fire of the SMG class, but the best damage and accuracy. Is equipped with a Silencer.
Uzi
The Uzi has middling statistics with the exception of handling, It is only available to those who played the demo up to maximum level.
Shotguns
Remington 870MCS
The Remington 870MCS is standard issue to US Demolition troops. Used by Pvt. Haggard as his main weapon in the game. This weapon has the same characteristics as the other starting pump-action shotgun in the game, the TI-94.
Neostead shotgun
Neostead shotguns are used by some Legionnaire's demolition troops. The Neostead shotgun is the most accurate and therefore the best shotgun in the game at range, but its tight spread makes it harder to fight at close range.
Saiga 20K
The Saiga 20K is the standard issue weapon of Russian demolition troops. Called the S20K in game, it is the only semi-automatic starting shotgun available. Has some sort of carrying handle on the handguard.
Franchi SPAS-12
The Franchi SPAS-12 is used by some of the Legionnaire's demolition troops. It is identical to the two starting pump-action shotguns in the game aside from the handling statistic, which is slightly higher due to its short length; the stock is never shown extended. It is incorrectly used as pump-action only.
Franchi SPAS-15
The Franchi SPAS-15 is a semi-automatic shotgun, and is the only weapon that doesn't reappear in the sequel.
TOZ-194
The TOZ-194 is standard issue to MEC demolition troops. This weapon has the same characteristics as the other starting pump-action shotgun in the game, the Remington 870 MCS.
USAS-12 Shotgun
The USAS-12 Shotgun is a fully-automatic shotgun with more damage and lower capacity than the SPAS-15 that is unlocked by checking your characters game statistics on EA's online service.
Assault Rifles
Heckler & Koch HK416
The Heckler & Koch HK416 is standard issue weapon to US Assault troops with designated name of 'M416'. One would think that a version used by the US military would use AR style iron sights instead of the H&K style sights. Also, on close inspection, the 416 you use has the ejection on the left side. So it's a lefty 416 which hasn't been actually produced yet. It is odd that you start out with this rifle, but your character is right handed. It is used by Sgt. Redford and Pvt. Marlow (Player Character) as their main weapons of choice. The three basic Assault Rifles in the game all behave in exactly the same way for balance purposes; this includes the AEK971, the AUG, and the HK416.
FN F2000
The FN F2000, equipped with an FN GL-1, is the weapon unlocked by going on the EA website and registering your other battlefield games for "veteran" status. It is characterized by an insanely high rate of fire and moderate accuracy, making it extremely effective at close range. The Bad Company model is only available in multiplayer and lacks the large scope which is often seen on the F2000.
Heckler & Koch XM8
The Heckler & Koch XM8 is a high rate of fire assault rifle with good accuracy, but is not generally used because of its low damage. Instead of the XM8's built-in scope, all variants of the XM8 use the rear sights from the G36C with custom forward sights.
Used by some of the Legionnaire's Assault troops. The vanilla XM8 uses an XM320 grenade launcher.
Steyr AUG A3
The Steyr AUG A3 is standard issue to MEC Assault troops. This has the same statistics as the other two starting assault rifles, namely the AEK971 and HK416. It mounts a M203 grenade launcher.
AEK-971
The AEK-971 is standard issue to Russian Assault troops. This has the same statistics as the other two starting assault rifles, namely the AUG and H&K 416. A Golden AEK-971 is seen hanging up on a wall in Zavimir Serdar's Office in the Palace.
AN-94
The AN-94 is used by some Russian assault troops. Comes with a GP-30 Grenade Launcher. The AN-94 has a clear sight picture, very high rate of fire and good accuracy balanced by low damage. It's considered one of the best rifles in the game, next to the M16.
M16 Rifle
The M16A3-like full-auto Assault Rifle appears as a name 'M16' with M203 Grenade Launcher. It is used by some of the Legionnaire's assault troops. The most accurate and powerful assault rifle in the game. Considered one of the two best rifles in the game, along with the AN-94.
9A-91 Rifle
The 9A-91 Rifle is standard issue to MEC Specialist troops. This has the same characteristics as the other two starting carbines in the game, namely the AKS-74U and the FN SCAR.Is equipped with a Silencer.
AKS-74U
The AKS-74U is standard issue carbine to Russian specialist troops. This has the same characteristics as the other two starting carbines in the game, namely the 9A-91 and the FN SCAR.Has a Silencer attached.
FN SCAR-L
The SCAR-L is standard issue carbine to US Specialist troops. This has the same characteristics as the other two starting carbines in the game, namely the AKS-74U and the 9A-91.Is equipped with a Silencer and Camo paint.
Heckler & Koch XM8 Compact Carbine
The XM8 Compact Carbine is more or less an XM8 shortened. The XM8 carbine is a middle of the road weapon, with no standout qualities, resulting in virtually no usage online. Is equipped with a silencer.
Sniper Rifles
GOL sniper rifle
The GOL sniper rifle is a German made sniper rifle used by MEC recon troops. This has the characteristics of the other two sniper rifles in the game, the M24 and the SV-98.
M24 Sniper Weapon System
The M24 Sniper Weapon System is standard issue to US recon troops. This has the characteristics of the other two sniper rifles in the game, the GOL and the SV-98. The M24 is considered to have the best scope reticule.
Izhmash SV-98
The Izhmash SV-98 is standard issue to Russian recon troops. This has the characteristics of the other two sniper rifles in the game, the M24 and the GOL.
Barrett M95
The Barrett M95 is used by some US and Legionnaire's recon troops. The M95 is depicted as having a 5 round magazine, likely for game balance purposes. It is by far the strongest gun in the game, being able to be used as an anti-aircraft gun. It's got a Camo paint job.
Norinco QBU-88
The Norinco QBU-88 isa semi-automatic sniper rifle unlocked by pre-ordering the game. An interesting note is that the animations used for the weapon are exactly the same to the ones used on the same weapon in Battlefield 2.
SVU Dragunov
The SVU Dragunov is used by some Russian recon troops. The SVU is a semi-automatic sniper rifle equipped with a suppressor. It has enough power that players can take down helicopters in only a couple magazines. In singleplayer the SVU is rare, only appearing twice and only on one level.
VSS Vintorez
The VSS Vintorez is the highest capacity and highest rate of fire sniper rifle available, but also does little damage. It has enough accuracy that some players can actually use it unscoped at close and medium range.
Light Machine Guns
Heckler & Koch MG36
The Heckler & Koch MG36 is used by of the Legionnaire's support troops. The MG36 is accurate, but not very powerful. It is widely used because the reflex optic makes it the easiest to aim accurately at long range, acting as a makeshift scope.
Since the MG36 is shown with an export sight despite the real weapon never being exported, it is most likely based on a G36 with a bipod handguard and Beta-C Mag rather than an authentic MG36.
M249 SAW Para
The M249 SAW Para is standard issue of US support troops, and to Pvt. Sweetwater. This has the same characteristics as the other two starting LMGs in the game, the PKM and the QJY-88.
M60 machine gun
The M60 machine gun is the most powerful LMG in the game, and is unlocked by registering for the online newsletter.
PK Machine Gun
The PK Machine Gun is standard issue of Russian support troops. This has the same characteristics as the other two starting LMGs in the game, the M249 Para SAW and the QJY-88.
Norinco QJY88
The Norinco QJY-88 is the standard issue of MEC support troops. This has the same characteristics as the other two starting LMGs in the game, the PKM and the M249 Para SAW.
Heckler & Koch XM8 LMG
The XM8 LMG is a middle of the road weapon, and not widely used. Used by the Legionnaire's support troops.
MG3
The MG3 is the highest rate of fire LMG in the game, but is also a little weak and very inaccurate,Which is strange because 7.62x51mm NATO packs a punch.
Launchers
M203 Grenade Launcher
FN GL-1
XM320
GP30
AT4
The AT4 is standard issue to US Demolitions troops and to Pvt. Haggard.
RPG-7
The RPG-7 is standard issue to Russian demolition troops.
Carl Gustav recoilless rifle
The Carl Gustav recoilless rifle is used in the final battle against the Legionnaire. Standard issue to MEC demolition troops.
