Alien is the 1979 science fiction film that launched the Alien film franchise. Directed by Ridley Scott, the movie revolves around a space transport crew who stumble upon an alien lifeform that poses a grave threat to their lives. The film launched the movie career of Sigourney Weaver and would spawn three direct sequels: Aliens, Alien³, and Alien Resurrection as well as the Alien vs. Predator series of films. For the twentieth anniversary, Scott released a "Director's Cut", which added back several scenes.
The following weapons were used in the film Alien:
Custom Flamethrower
The main weapon used by the crew of the Nostromo is the flamethrower. The customized flamethrower is seen used by Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), Parker (Yaphet Kotto), and Dallas (Tom Skerritt).
Harpoon Gun
Ripley is seen holding a harpoon gun when confronting the Alien in the escape pod.
Rexim-Favor & Webley Junior Mk.II
When investigating the derelict ship, Dallas tells the crew to break out the weapons, the larger of which was based on the Swiss Rexim-Favor, the other based on a Webley Junior Mk.II air pistol. In order to make the alien ship look larger, a second scaled down set of everything with the suits (including the pistols) and children were dressed up in the smaller spacesuits instead of the actors in all the wide shots. Thus, it's likely that Rexim guns were used for the actors, and the Webley pistols were used as the smaller scale versions. While not seen being used, they are briefly seen in holsters on the crew's spacesuits.
