::In all fairness it was one horrific fight in Algiers and Algeria. The overall insurgency ran from 54-62. It almost ended with a military coup in France. And by all accounts the French military actually did a pretty good job. But like most of these wars they were defeated on the homefront. In all fairness it was one horrific fight in Algiers and Algeria. The overall insurgency ran from 54-62. It almost ended with a military coup in France. And by all accounts the French military actually did a pretty good job. But like most of these wars they were defeated on the homefront.
