Synopsis

One of Paul Newman's last movies. He plays Donald "Sully" Sullivan. A rascal and something of a bum who works construction jobs under the table and mooches off of his friends. However one thanksgiving his estranged son and grandson show up and Sully finds that , like it or not, there are going to be changes. In addition to Paul Newman Bruce Willis, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Josef Sommer, and Melanie Griffith are also in the cast.

Smith & Wesson Model 586

Officer Raymer (Philip Seymour Hoffman) carries ,and uses, a Smith & Wesson Model 586. He accidentally fires it at Sully Sullivan (Paul Newman). Officer Raymer is an idiot. Later another of the Bath Police Officers throws his Smith & Wesson Model 586 into the pot of a local poker game. Rub Squeers (Pruitt Taylor Vince) points the same revolver at Carl Roebuck (Bruce Willis). It's complicated.
