Despite being called "HK MP5SD5", this weapon is actually an [[MP5SD|MP5SD2]] with a ''bonus'' 3-round burst mode. This is noted by the fact that it is modeled with the old S-E-F trigger group, while the real SD5 is only available with the ''3-round burst'' trigger group. (Note that ''3-round burst'' and ''Navy'' trigger groups are not the same. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six is a critically-acclaimed tactical first-person shooter / real-time tactics video game developed by Red Storm entertainment with the help of writer Tom Clancy. It was released in 1998 for the PC, and later (after the incredible success) ported to other platforms. It is considered the first real tactical simulator with licensed, realistic weapons, and real-life features and tactics.
The following weapons were can be seen in the video game Rainbow Six:
Usable Weapons
Secondary Weapons
Beretta 92FS
The Beretta 92FS is the standard 9mm handgun of the Rainbow team. Appears as "9mm 92FS" and "9mm 92FS-SD", the latter is equipped with a suppressor.
Heckler & Koch USP40
The Heckler & Koch USP40 appears as "HK .40 USP", and the suppressed variant is the "HK .40 USP-SD".
Heckler & Koch Mark 23
The Heckler & Koch Mark 23 uses the exact same model and icon as the USP40. The only difference is that this weapon holds only 12 rounds, while the USP has a 13-round capacity. Appears as "HK .45 MARK23".
Primary Weapons
Colt Model 610 (GAU-5/A)
The GAU-5/A appears as "CAR-15" in the game and features an incorrect safe/semi/burst/auto trigger group. Holds 30 rounds but is modeled with 20-round ones. Another inaccuracy is that the handguard has the same length as the M16A2's.
Colt M16A2
The M16A2 appears as "M-16A2" and has an incorrect safe/semi/burst/auto trigger group, like all the automatic weapons in the game.
Heckler & Koch MP5A2
The Heckler & Koch MP5A2 appears as "HK MP5 A2" in the game. Features the 3-round burst mode, like the A4 variant, but the selector does not have that option. Is modeled with straight magazines, but that should not be noted as a mistake, considering the game's release date and available technology back then.
Heckler & Koch MP5K-PDW
The Heckler & Koch MP5K-PDW appears as "HK MP5K-PDW" in the game and can fire in semi-auto, 3-round burst and fully automatic modes.
Heckler & Koch MP5SD2
Despite being called "HK MP5SD5", this weapon is actually an MP5SD2 with a bonus 3-round burst mode. This is noted by the fact that it is modeled with the old S-E-F trigger group, while the real SD5 is only available with the 3-round burst trigger group. (Note that 3-round burst and Navy trigger groups are not the same. For more information about trigger groups, visit the official Heckler & Koch website). The weapon also features an ambidextrous safety, which the real S-E-F grouped H&K weapons do not have. (This is because both sides of the gun use the same texture.)
Benelli M1 Super 90
The Benelli M1 Super 90 semi-automatic shotgun appears with an incorrect 8-shell capacity. (The real M1 holds only 3 or 7 shells.) Referred to as "Benelli M1 Tactical 12ga".
Unusable Weapons
IMI Mini Uzi
The Mini Uzi without stock is used by enemy terrorists.
AK-47
The AK-47 is a terrorist-only weapon and quite possibly the most common enemy weapon encountered.
