Sniper is a 2011 action thriller that is the fourth installment in the Sniper film series. Billy Zane returns from the first film as Richard Miller, the CIA sniper who was the protege of Master Gunnery Sgt. Thomas Beckett (Tom Berenger). In this film, Miller travels to the Congo to assist a young Marine (who happens to be the son of Beckett) track down a rebel sniper. The film was produced in South Africa, so many of the weapons seen in the film are of the country's origin.
The following firearms were used in the movie Sniper: Reloaded
Lee-Enfield Rifle
Sgt. Brandon Beckett (Chad Michael Collins) uses what appears to be a sporterized version of the SMLE rifle during his mission to take down the rebel sniper.
Winchester Model 70
A Winchester Model 70 is also used by Martin Chandler (Patrick Lyster) and then Sgt. Beckett.
Truvelo 50
A US Marine sniper whom Miller trains at Camp Lejeune is seen using what appears to be Truvelo 50, a bolt action, magazine fed .50 cal BMG sniper rifle from South Africa. Miller is later seen using the rifle.
M40A1
A few of the US Marine snipers whom Miller trains at Camp Lejeune (Tom Berenger), appear to be using the M40A1 Sniper Rifle which is based on the Remington Model 700 Bolt Action Rifle. Miller also uses the weapon.
CAR-15
AR-15 Carbines fitted with scopes and R.I.S. handguards in order to resemble the M4A1 are used by Sgt. Brandon Beckett (Chad Michael Collins) as well as the other Marines in the Congo.
Mk12 SPR (mock up)
Another Marine is seen carrying what appears to be a Mk 12 Special Purpose Rifle or at least a AR-15 made to resemble it.
M16A2
Marines who train with Miller as well as other Marines in the Congo are seen with the M16A2.
Vektor R5 (Modified to Resemble AK-47)
Rebel soldiers use what appear to be at first glance AK-47 rifles. However, based on their 5.56 magazines and angled Valmet-style receiver design, these rifles are actually Vektor R5 rifles modified to resemble Kalashnikovs. Similar weapons have appeared in other movies made in South Africa, such as District 9 or Chris Ryan's Strike Back.
Vektor R5
Other unmodified Vektor R5 rifles are used by UN Forces.
Vektor R6
What is referred to as an "AKS" being displayed to UN Forces appears to be a Vektor R6 rifle modified to resemble an AKS-74.
Vektor Z88
Due to the film's production in South Africa, the Vektor Z88, the South African copy of the Beretta 92FS, appears to be the handgun used throughout the film in lieu of the Beretta.
LAR Grizzly Mk I.45 Winchester Magnum
The LAR Grizzly Mk I is given to Sgt. Beckett by Miller. Miller says that it was a gift from Beckett's father (he had used it in the first film).
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
The Heckler & Koch MP5 is seen carried by military police at the film's conclusion.
