Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear is a tactical first-person shooter computer game, the second in the Rainbow Six series. The game was developed and published by Red Storm Entertainment, a studio founded by writer Tom Clancy. Rogue Spear was released in 1999, and like Ghost Recon, it did not feature first-person weapon models. Also, this is perhaps the only video game in the world, where "SAFE" is a selectable fire-mode.
The first expansion, Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear: Urban Operations was released in 2000 and it featured several new weapons and missions. Guns added in this expansion are marked with "UO".
Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear: Black Thorn is a stand-alone expansion released a year later. This expansion removed all the manufacturer names from the weapon names and descriptions. New weapons introduced in this add-on are marked with "BT".
The following weapons were used in the video game Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear and its expansions:
Pistols
Beretta 92FS
Standard 9mm pistol of the Rainbow team. Appears as "92FS 9mm" and "92FS 9mm-SD", the latter is equipped with a suppressor. Some terrorists will also carry Beretta 92FS's.
Heckler & Koch USP40
The Heckler & Koch USP40 appears as "HK .40 USP", and the suppressed variant is the "HK .40 USP-SD". According to the game the latter is fitted with a sound moderator manufactured by "Knight Armament Corp.".
Heckler & Koch Mark 23
The Heckler & Koch Mark 23 uses the exact same model and icon as the USP40. The only difference is that this weapon holds only 12 rounds, while the USP has a 13-round capacity. Appears as "HK MARK23" and "HK MARK23-SD". Its name changes to ".45cal M23" in Black Thorn.
IMI/Magnum Research Desert Eagle Mark XIX
The Desert Eagle is available in two calibers: .357 Magnum and .50 Action Express. Like with the USP and MK23, the two Deserts use the same world model and icons, even though the .357 variant should have a fluted barrel. The in-game text states that the .357 Magnum DE has an 8-round capacity, but it holds correctly 9 shots. Desert Eagles are carried by important enemy VIPs.
SIG-Sauer P228 (BT)
The SIG-Sauer P228 appears as "9mm P-228 Pistol" in the game. The default kit contains four 13-round magazines.
FN Five-seveN (BT)
The older version of the FN Five-seveN appears in the game as "5.7mm Belgian Pistol". Holds a correct 20 rounds, but only one magazine can be carried for it without the bonus secondary mags option.
Steyr SPP (BT)
The Steyr SPP appears as "9mm SPP Pistol". Holds 30 rounds, and no spare ammo can be carried for it unless additional secondary ammo is selected.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5K-PDW
The Heckler & Koch MP5K-PDW appears as "HK MP5K-PDW" in the game and can fire in semi-auto and fully automatic. In Black Thorn the name changes to "9mm MP5 PDW".
Heckler & Koch MP5N
The H&K MP5N appears as "HK MP5A4" in the game. Fires in 3-round burst mode, but the world-model lacks that option. Is modeled with straight magazines; basically this MP5 and the MP5/10A2 use the exact same models in-game and during weapon selection. The MP5N is also present in the Urban Operations expansion as a terrorist weapon.
Heckler & Koch MP5/10A2
Another standard submachine gun of Rainbows. The H&K MP5/10A2 comes in standard and suppressed versions. Referred to as "HK MP5/10A2" and "HK MP5/10SD", respectively.
Heckler & Koch MP5SD2
The H&K MP5SD2 appears as "HK MP5SD5". Has a 3-round burst option and is modeled with and old S-E-F trigger group.
Heckler & Koch UMP45
The UMP45 is the most powerful submachine gun available to Team Rainbow. Two versions are featured, the "UMP 45" and "UMP 45-SD", the latter is fitted with a sound suppressor. The UMP in the game features an incorrect 3-round burst fire mode. This mistake was later corrected in Rainbow Six: Vegas, where it was changed to the correct 2-round burst. In the Urban Operations expansion, the UMP45 is used by terrorists in the London Subway level.
Beretta M12S (BT)
The Beretta M12S appears as "9mm M12 SMG" and holds 40 rounds per magazine.
FN P90 (BT)
Two versions of the FN P90 are present: "5.7mm P90 SMG" and "5.7mm P90 SD SMG", the latter is fitted with a sound suppressor. The P90 is among the best weapons due to the high magazine capacity and superb accuracy.
Steyr TMP (BT)
Referred to as "9mm TMP SMG". The Steyr TMP appears with 30-round magazines. There is no suppressed version of this weapon.
IMI Mini Uzi
The Mini Uzi is a terrorist-only weapon in the single player mode, and is seen constantly throughout the campaign. Can be used in multiplayer though.
CZ SA Vz.61 "Skorpion"
The Skorpion is yet another terrorist-only weapon that is constantly seen throughout the single player campaign.
Shotguns
Benelli M1 Super 90
The Benelli M1 Super 90 semi-automatic shotgun appears with a 7-round capacity. Can fire 12 ga. 00 Buckshot, 12 ga. Rubber Baton and 12 ga. Slug shells. Available to players, as well as to terrorists in levels relating to the Russian mafia or British skinheads. Appears as "Benelli M1 Tactical 12 ga." in Rogue Spear and Urban Operations, and as "M1 SG" in Black Thorn.
Franchi SPAS-12
The Franchi SPAS-12 incorrectly appears as a select-fire semi/full-auto shotgun with an also incorrect 9-shell capacity. Capable of firing standard buckshot or rubber rounds.
Assault Rifles
Steyr AUG A1
The Steyr AUG A1 appears as "Steyr AUG" in the game. Due to the Swarovski scope it provides better zooming capability than the other assault rifles. Available to the player, and seen in terrorist hands during the level in Kazakhstan.
Colt M16A2
The M16A2 appears as "M-16 A2" and has a correct safe/semi/burst trigger group. Available by default, and can be seen in the hands of Japanese terrorists during the oil tanker level, as well as the Venetian level in the Urban Operations expansion. In Black Thorn the name is changed to "5.56mm M16 AR", which is an incorrect name for this burst-firing weapon.
Colt M733
The Colt M733 appears as "M4 Carbine" in the game. Has a safe/semi/auto trigger group, even though a real M4 would have a burst option instead of full-auto. It is used by terrorists in the Prague Opera House level and the Biological Weapons lab in the Urban Operations expansion.
Heckler & Koch G3A3
Appears as "HK G3A3". The G3A3 is among the most common terrorist weapons, and can be seen in many levels in Rogue Spear and its expansions.
Heckler & Koch G36K
The G36K features an incorrect 3-round burst mode, like the UMP45. It is used by the Rainbow Team. Appears as "HK G36K".
Enfield L85A1
The L85A1 is available with a SUSAT scope.
FN FNC (BT)
The FN FNC appears as "5.56mm FNC AR" in the game.
FN FAL (BT)
The FN FAL appears with 20-round magazines and good stopping power. Referred to as "7.62mm FAL AR".
GIAT FAMAS G1 (BT)
The prototype-only FAMAS G1 rifle incorrectly appears as "5.56mm FAMAS G2 AR" in the game, but holds correctly 25-rounds.
M14
The M14 is available to the player only, capable of semi and automatic fire. In Rogue Spear, the M14 is only available with white camouflage finish, but in Urban Operations it changes to wooden finish.
AK-47
The AK-47 is a terrorist-only weapon in single player and quite possibly the most common weapon encountered besides the Uzi and the Skorpion.
AKS-74
The folding stock AKS-74 is a terrorist only weapon, and is common in levels involving the Russian military. In the Urban Operations expansion, the rifle is seen in the hands of South American rebels and Hong Kong Triads.
Sniper Rifles
Walther WA 2000
The Walther WA 2000 is available to the player only. Holds 6 rounds and can be reloaded faster than the other rifles. Appears as "Walther WA 2000".
Barrett M82A1
The powerful Barrett M82A1 sniper rifle is available to the player only. Used primarily to disable escaping vehicles or kill heavily armored targets.
Heckler & Koch PSG-1
The Heckler & Koch PSG-1 is a standard sniper rifle of Team Rainbow. Available to players, and to a single terrorist sniper in the Prague Opera House mission. Holds only 5 rounds.
SIG-Sauer SSG 3000 (BT)
The SIG-Sauer SSG 3000 appears as "7.62mm SSG3000 SR" in the game.
SVD Dragunov
A terrorist only weapon. Used by Serb terrorists in the Kosovo mission, and by Hong Kong Triads and a South American druglord in the Urban Operations expansion.
Accuracy Internation Arctic Warfare Covert (UO)
The Accuracy International Arctic Warfare Covert is a suppressed sniper rifle available only in the Urban Operations expansion. Holds 10 rounds and incorrectly operates in semi-automatic mode. Appears as "7.62mm AW Covert SR" in the game.
Machine Guns
FN M249E2 SAW (UO)
The M249E2 SAW appears as "M249 LMG". Holds 200+200 rounds and offers poor zooming ability.
Heckler & Koch HK21E (UO)
The Heckler & Koch HK21E appears with a correct safe/semi/3-burst/auto trigger group and holds 100 rounds. It is more powerful than the SAW but less accurate. Called "HK 21E3" in Urban Ops, and "7.62mm 21E3 LMG" in Black Thorn.
M60E3 (BT)
The M60E3 appears as "7.62mm M60 LMG". Holds 100 rounds and is powerful and fairly accurate.
Degtyarev RPD
The RPD is a terrorist-only weapon seen in the Hong Kong mission. Appears without bi-pod.
