Separate pages for 29 and 629?
- I only ask because having the 29 and 629 both under one page is a bit confusing, especially when the rest of the earlier Smith and Wesson guns (pistols included) all have separate pages for each of the blue steel guns and their stainless counterparts. StanTheMan 18:32, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
- I agree, but I should leave to an admin to do --Jackbel 01:48, 20 April 2011 (CDT)

Short Barreled 629s
I think that the custom barrels of the 629s from Extreme Prejudice, Beverly Hills Cop and The Hitcher are made by John Jovino Gun Shop or Magna-Port Combat Conversion Kit, but more probably is Magna Port. With a quick search on google you understand what I mean.
Magna-Port Combat: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v432/tipoc/mag4.jpg , http://www.magnaport.com/images/mg002.jpg
Jovino (S&W M25 in the photo): http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q68/d1911/Guns001.jpg
Look at the thin compensation holes in the middle of the barrel. It's a peculiarity of both brands.

The 3" Model 29 on the Main Page
It should be noted as a 'Mountain Gun' variant and not a standard Model 29, and perhaps even moved to the additional images section here. IIRC, the Mountain Gun is the only Model 29 with the tapered barrel, and it could lead to some confusion on IDs (The tapered barrel can lend some users to use it to ID guns as .44s that might actually more likely be .357 Model 27/28s).
