The following firearms were used in the film The Sting:
WARNING! POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD!
Smith & Wesson Model 10
Cole (Brad Sullivan), one of Doyle Lonnegan's (Robert Shaw) hitmen, chases and shoots at Johnny Hooker (Robert Redford) with a Smith & Wesson Model 10.
Colt Official Police
Joliet PD Lt. William Snyder (Charles Durning) and FBI Agent Polk (Dana Elcar) carry a Colt Official Police revolvers.
Smith & Wesson Model 10 Snub Nose
Loretta Salino (Dimitra Arliss) carries a suppressed Smith & Wesson Model 10. (This movie relies twice on the myth that a revolver can be sound-suppressed). On the last day of the con, Henry Gondforff (Paul Newman) sticks a Model 10 Snub in his waistband. He later uses this to shoot Johnny Hooker.
Colt New Service
The black-gloved gunman (Joe Tornatore), hired by Gondorff, shoots Salino with a suppressed Colt New Service that he constructs in his room.
