On May 19, 2011, it was announced on Bohemia Interactive's official website that a third installment of ArmA series is under development and is set to be released exclusively for the PC in summer 2012. The story is set in the near-future and follows a special forces soldier, Captain Scott Miller, who becomes stranded on a Mediterranean island during an international conflict between NATO forces and an unknown eastern OPFOR alliance and must fight his way out, building an effective resistance force in the process.

The following weapon are seen in screenshots of the upcoming video game ArmA III:


Assault Rifles

FN F2000 Tactical

A fictional variant of the FN F2000 Tactical is used by American special forces soldiers and are fitted with a 20 inch barrel, C-more red dot sight, Monolith Arms rail system, and vertical foregrip. It has a P90's trigger guard/foregrip due to the aforementioned Monolith Arms rail system.

IMI Tavor TAR-21

The Tavor TAR-21 appears to be the standard rifle of the OPFOR forces, and can be customized with a variety of sights and attachments.

Unknown weapon

An unknown weapon (probably assault rifle) is attached to back of a combat diver. By the magazine, it looks like an AR-15-style weapon.
