Planet of the Apes is the 1968 science fiction film starring Charlton Heston as a human astronaut stranded on a mysterious planet where apes are the highly evolved species and humans are regarded as animals. The film would spawn 4 sequels, a 2001 "re-imagining" directed by Tim Burton and a 2011 upcoming prequel "reboot" titled Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
The following weapons were used in the film Planet of the Apes:
Apes Rifle (modified M1 Carbine)
The main rifle used by the Apes in the film is a visually modified M1 Carbine. The M1 was housed in a wood case that disguised the barrel as well as the magazine. Astronaut Taylor (Charlton Heston) is also seen using the rifle after entering the Forbidden Zone. For the background extras, wooden replicas were used.
Colt 1903 Hammerless
At the beginning of the movie, Taylor checks his pack, in which a Colt Model 1903 is seen.
