Crime Story was a television crime series created by Chuck Adamson and executive produced by Michael Mann. The series was set during the early 1960's and starred Dennis Farina as a Chicago police detective determined to take down a young ambitious mobster (Anthony Denison). The series aired on NBC and for the first season was set in Chicago and in Las Vegas for the rest of the series.

Sgt. Danny Krychek (Bill Smitrovich) as well as other detectives carry the Colt Detective Special.

Det. Walter Clemmons (Paul Butler) carried the Smith & Wesson Model 29 as his main sidearm.

Other members of the Chicago Major Crimes Unit carry the Smith & Wesson Model 36.

A sawed off 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun is used by several characters in the series, notably Det. Clemmons.

The Browning Automatic Rifle is seen used by Sgt. Danny Krychek (Bill Smitrovich).
