Mission: Impossible III is the third installment in the Mission: Impossible movie franchise. The 2006 sequel was directed by J.J. Abrams (Lost) and once again stars Tom Cruise as IMF Agent Ethan Hunt, who is forced by an arms dealer to steal a mysterious weapon known only as "The Rabbit's Foot" in exchange for his kidnapped wife.
The following weapons were used in the film Mission: Impossible III:
During the bridge ambush, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) grabs a Heckler & Koch G36K assault rifle from the trunk of his Lincoln Navigator and uses it against the mercenaries sent to free Owen Davian (Philip Seymour Hoffman).
Several IMF operatives also carry G36C's as they escort Davian from the plane to the convoy.
IMF operatives also are armed with Heckler & Koch G36C's as they greet the IMF team returning from Shanghai on the tarmac.
The mercenaries employed to free Davian also carry the AKMSU during the bridge assault.

M4A1
In a flashback sequence, IMF Agent Lindsey Ferris (Keri Russell) is shown assembling an M4A1 blindfolded during a training exercise.
In Shanghai, Ethan takes a Beretta 92FS from one of Davian's men and then is seen being taken up by Davian himself. Ethan is later seen giving the Beretta to his wife Julia (Michelle Monaghan), showing her how to properly load and handle the gun. IMF Agent Musgrave (Billy Crudup) also holds and fires a Beretta.
The Beretta 92G Elite 1A is the sidearm of Ethan Hunt during the mission to rescue Agent Ferris (Keri Russell). He passes it to Ferris during their escape and it is fitted with a tactical flashlight. Ethan also appears to carry one when he and the IMF convoy are ambushed on the Bay Bridge by operatives of Owen Davian (Philip Seymour Hoffman).
The Glock 17 is used by several characters in the film. Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) notably uses the Glock during the chase in Shanghai, where he hangs low to the ground from a car's backseat to shoot out a pursuing car's tires, causing a wreck and terminating the chase. Zhen (Maggie Q) also uses one during the bridge ambush.
Ethan also uses a Glock pistol modified to fire tranquilizer darts. He first uses it to subdue Davian in the Vatican bathroom and then is seen using it during his infiltration of the military-controlled skyscraper to subdue the roof guards. He quickly loses the gun in order to prevent himself from falling to his death.
IMF Agent Pete (José Zuñiga) is seen using what appears to be a Ruger Mk I pistol modified to fire wireless Taser-like darts when the agents try to apprehend Ethan.
Several Barrett M82 sniper rifles are planted by Ethan in front of the warehouse before the rescue mission. Each rifle is mounted on a remote turret and is fed by two ammo drums (presumably .50BMG). The rate of fire in the movie is most likely a rapid semi-automatic rather than a slow automatic rate of fire. The Barrett rifles are fired remotely by Luther (Ving Rhames).
