Revision as of 17:14, 27 March 2011
The Heckler & Koch HK416 assault rifle is an improvement to the well-known M4 carbine. The design is made so that users of the original carbine can easily adapt to the new firearm. The main and major improvement that exists in the HK416 over the M4 carbine is that because of the mechanism is adapted from the G36 rather than the direct-impingement system found in M4 carbines, making it reliable to shoot, and won't jam even if exposed to the elements.
The Heckler & Koch HK417 is the bigger sibling, chambering a 7.62x51mm NATO round, which makes it suitable to be used as a battle rifle and/or a designated marksman rifle.
