From Here to Eternity (1953)

From Here to Eternity is a 1953 World War II romance starring Frank Sinatra, Burt Lancaster, and Montgomery Clift as soldiers in the US Army stationed at Pearl Harbor just prior to the Japanese attack. The film received the Academy Award for Best Picture and was based on a novel by James Jones, who also wrote The Thin Red Line.
