NYPD Blue was a police drama that aired on ABC for 12 seasons from 1993-2005. The show was produced by Steven Bochco (Hill Street Blues) and was controversial for the frank language and nudity that was unprecedented for a weekly network series.
The following weapons were used in the television series NYPD Blue:
Glock 17
The Glock 17 is the main sidearm of nearly all of the series' NYPD detectives including Det. Bobby Simone (Jimmy Smits), Det. James Martinez (Nicholas Turturro), Det. John Clark, Jr. (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and Det. Danny Sorenson (Rick Schroder). This is a relatively minor mistake, as the only Glock authorized by the NYPD is the model 19. *Actually the NYPD authorizes the Glock 26 9mm for back-up or off duty use.
Smith & Wesson Model 36
The Smith & Wesson Model 36 is the sidearm carried by Det. Sgt. Andy Sipowicz (Dennis Franz), Det. Greg Medavoy (Gordon Clapp) and Det. John Kelly (David Caruso).
Beretta 92FS Inox
A Beretta 92FS Inox is used by several characters in the series, notably in Season 2's "Innuendo".
