Nah, I get your point, and I agree somewhat that maybe it shouldn't be posted - Mainly more because you really can't even see much of the gun in the first place. Though I don't see what harm there is in keeping it. [[User:StanTheMan|StanTheMan]] 16:42, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

This "African-American soldier" in question is Huey P. Newton, one of the Black Panther Party founders. The picture is a very famous one that has appeared widely in the media (I've seen T-shirts with it). Here's one link to it:

I'm not sure if we should be including guns that don't physically appear in the movie, but if anyone can ID the rifle from this picture (using the link I have provided), it would be a start. -[[User:MT2008|MT2008]] 20:15, 10 March 2011 (MSK)

I'm going to screencap this movie when i have the chance.-Oliveira 16:08, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Yay! Gunmaster screencapped it. Does anyone know when are the Vietnam War Scenes suppossed to take place?-Oliveira 15:42, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
I'd assume it is 1968. - Gunmaster45
This film had also some of the best looking Nam sequences in a movie. Their Technical advisors were good. Not just battle scenes but equipment/guns and the look of the soldiers was all accurate.MPM2008
On the DVD commentary the director said Capt. Dale Dye (Ret.) was the technical advisor for the film. He was also the advisor on Platoon. --Predator20 05:41, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

The Thompson

Moved from main page

I originally wrote this edit -

- Another one of Lt. Dan's ancestors, who died during World War II, is seen holding an M1 Thompson submachine gun, noted by it's lack of a Cutts Compensator.

And someone properly corrected me stating,

Correction: He is holding a 1928A1 Thompson (Note the actuator is on the top not the side). The 1928A1 was made with and without the Cutts.

Interesting, I didn't know that personally. I thought all older Thompsons had the Cutts Compensator, or at least I had only seen 'em with it anyway. Learn something new every day, I always say. It seems pretty uncommon to see a '28 Tommy Gun without the Cutts though.

Anyway, I'll re-edit it. StanTheMan 15:19, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Lt. Dan's ancestors

Hey, one of Lt. Dan's ancestors can be seen dying in another war (the script says the revolutionary war). Does anyone know what gun he has in that scene? Thanks!

Revoloution ancestor

He's holding a charleville musket in that scene.

The statue's gun?

Why is the statue's gun on the list? It's just a statue. Excalibur01 03:46, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

- What are you? A statue racist!? :b

Heh,
