The Pink Panther is the 1963 comedy that was the first film in the "Pink Panther" movie series and the first to feature Peter Sellers in the role of Inspector Jacques Clouseau. Directed by Blake Edwards, Inspector Clouseau was originally not supposed to be the lead, but the popularity of the character lead to four more films with Sellers as Clouseau and three more in the series. A "reboot" of The Pink Panther starring Steve Martin as Clouseau was released in 2006.
