The writers are doing a little bit of homework on this series as when Jimmy is asked what the point on the top of the handle is he says it's a skull crusher and is used for "Cracking walnuts". Which is what it is arguably more useful for as why would you want to try and crush a man's skull when you can stab him with 6 inches of steel. | |||

Pistols
Colt Model 1903/1908
Jimmy Darmody (Michael Pitt) carries a Colt Model 1903/1908 in a shoulder holster. In the episode "Home" Richard Harrow (Jack Huston) asks Jimmy what type of pistol he is carrying and Jimmy replies, "A Colt 1903". This tells us the caliber is .32 ACP as the .380 ACP is the Colt 1908.
