From memory (it's a while since I saw this), doesn't the POW camp initially have Lewis guns in the watchtowers - the threat of a breakout not being taken very seriously and the guards consequently having to make do with second-line equipment? To clarify a couple of the shots of the Vickers, this is set up as a display of force, but quite deliberately restricted (by the wooden posts) to only covering the perimeter, if the Japanese were to break out, but not intimidate or threaten them too much (I think that was the reasoning) by being able to fire into their compound. I notice the Owen smg is described in one shot as having a folding stock - is this correct? My understanding is that it was a rigid metal skeleton stock which while it was easily removable (and possibly even interchangeable with an alternative design of wooden butt) didn't actually fold as such. Oh, I'll scan through the dvd and have a look for the Lewis. As for the Owen Gun, I'm not certain that it's a folding stock, but it's resemblance to the M1A1 Carbine made me think it was much of the same. I'll edit it out.
