Miniguns are seen on the scene when the Mi-24 Hind helicopter flies down and attacks the Mujahideen.
This four barreled Russian machinegun was/is the standard armament on the later model Hind gunships.  It is unique in the world of "gatling-style" weapons in that it does not require electrical power to function.  It was subsequently replaced by light 20mm and 30mm cannon.
