Capricorn One is 1978 thriller directed by Peter Hyams and starring James Brolin who along with his fellow astronauts find themselves involved in a conspiracy to fabricate a manned landing on Mars.

Col. Brubaker (James Brolin) finds a Colt Detective Special a survival kit on the airplane, however he loses it while hiding from his pursuers. The Federal Agents who arrest Robert Caulfield's (Elliott Gould) apartment are also armed with the Colt Detective Special.

A helicopter pilot opens fire on a fleeing Brubaker with a Smith & Wesson Model 10.
