Southern Comfort is a 1981 thriller directed by Walter Hill (48 Hrs.) that centers around a National Guard patrol who find themselves being hunted by a group of Cajun locals in the swamps of Louisiana.
The following weapons are used in the film Southern Comfort:
M16 Rifle Colt Model 602
Most of the National Guardsmen in the film including Cpl. Hardin (Powers Boothe) and Pfc. Spencer (Keith Carradine) are seen carrying the M16 rifle, which have been modified to fire blanks as well as live ammunition.
MGC Replica M16 rifle
A number of characters were seen carrying MGC M16 Replica rifles for scenes where they didn't carry the blank-firing M16 rifles.
M60 machine gun
Pfc. Stucky (Lewis Smith) uses his M60 to fire blanks at the Cajun locals in a joke which sparks the backlash for the rest of the movie.
Hopkins & Allen Scheutzen Rifle
Used by several Cajuns, Also used to wound Hardin in the end at the party.
I believe it's actually a Remington Rolling Block (the cartridge looks like 43 Spanish), the two large diameter pins in the action aren't present in Hopkins and Allens rifles but are in the Remington
Winchester Model 1894
A Winchester Model 1894 is found in the Cajun Trapper's shack, most likely a .30-30
Marlin Model 1895
A Marlin Model 1895 is used by the Cajun Trapper (Brion James) near the end to threaten Pfc. Spencer and Cpl. Hardin, It's either a .444 or a .45-70.
