Planet of the Apes is the 1968 science fiction film starring Charlton Heston as a human astronaut stranded on a mysterious planet where the apes are highly evolved. The film would spawn 4 sequels and a 2001 "reboot" directed by Tim Burton.
The following weapons were used in the film Planet of the Apes:
Apes Rifle (modified M1 Carbine)
The main rifle used by the Apes in the film is a visually modified M1 Carbine. The M1 was housed in a wood case that disguised the barrel as well as the magazine. Astronaut Taylor (Charlton Heston) is also seen using the rifle after entering the Forbidden Zone. For the background extras, wooden replicas were used.
