The Colt-Sako rifle was built in 1960-1963 originally using the L-57 Sako Actions they had a rounded forend and was limited to .243 and .308 calibers only. Later rifles built between 1963-1965 were built on the L-461 short action, L-579 medium action and L-61 long action. The model L-461 was available in .222 Remington, .222 Remington Magnum, .223 Remington. The model L-579 was available in .243 Winchester, and .308 Winchester. The model L-61 was available in .264 Winchester Magnum, 270 Winchester, 30-06, and .300 H&H Magnum. The later rifles had a obliquely cut rosewood forend tip.
