Famed character actor, Ed O'Neill is probably best known for his boorish, misogynistic character, Al Bundy, from the long running television comedy Married with Children, despite having played 'hard types' in many films and shows previously. In the years during the run of "Married with Children", O'Neill found it hard to get cast in any role that was not comedy related. His role as the Court Martial Officer in Flight of the Intruder was recast after test screenings and re-shot with actor Fred Thompson. Ed O'Neill, is also a Brazilian Ju Jitsu blackbelt and was formerly signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, before being let go in 1969.
