What's the point of this?

I mean, I've seen these fictional weapons in manga and anime, but they don't hold much merit since they are indeed not real. Though they might be based on some real world design, it isn't like any of them are futuristic dress up versions of firearms we know, just "what if" evolutions of firearms.
