The engraved nickel 1911a1 doesn't need the last line implying a different frame from the stock gun. The Colts with the large roll mark saying MKIV Series 80 had the arched mainspring housing and short trigger exactly as this pistol appears. This is how the full size Colts were made in the 80s.
The CURRENT Colt Series 80s have the flat mainspring housing and the long trigger, I think that is where the confusion is coming from.
The pistol in the picture does not appear to be modified in any way (except for the engraving of course.) The last line in the description that says "''Though the slide is marked "MK IV Series 80", it appears to have been a standard M1911A1 frame''" should be deleted. This is a standard Colt Government Model made in the 1980s. |

The pistol in the picture does not appear to be modified in any way (except for the engraving of course.) The last line in the description that says "Though the slide is marked "MK IV Series 80", it appears to have been a standard M1911A1 frame" should be deleted. This is a standard Colt Government Model made in the 1980s.
