Song of the Thin Man was filmed in 1947 about retired detective Nick Charles played by William Powell and his wife Nora Charles played by Myrna Loy are at a charity event on the SS Fortune when the bandleader is murdered. As they investigate the Jazz world of the 1940's trying to find clues to who did it there is an attempt of the life of a band member. Nick has him put in jail for his own protection until he can round up all the suspects back on the SS Fortune for one final Jazz tune.
