Colt Detective Special
Kathie Moffat (Jane Greer) uses a Colt Detective Special throughout the film, notably to shoot Jack Fisher (Steve Brodie) and Jeff Bailey (Robert Mitchum).
Colt M1911A1
Joe Stephanos (Paul Valentine) aims a Colt M1911A1 at Jeff but The Kid (Dickie Moore) uses his fishing pole to knock him down before he can shoot him, firing wildly as he falls to his death. When confronting Whit Sterling (Kirk Douglas) later, Jeff mentions that Joe had a ".45."
M1928A1 Thompson
The policeman that shoots at Kathie's (Jane greer) station wagon has a M1928A1 Thompson.
