ArmA IIis the sequel to ArmA: Combat Operations and the spiritual successor to Operation Flashpoint. The game revolves around a war in the fictional ex-Soviet republic of Chernarus, which is being fought over by the government, communist rebels, the United States and the Russian Federation. In total there are around 81 weapon variants available in the game. An upcoming stand alone expansion entitled Operation Arrowhead will feature an American-European coalition taking part in a campaign against the fictional Central Asian country of Takistan.

Pistols
Colt M1911A1
The Colt M1911A1 pistol is the standard sidearm of Marine Force Recon units.
Makarov PM
The Makarov PM pistol is the standard sidearm for most of the factions involved in the game, including the Russian Federation, Chernarussian Defence Forces, Chendaki rebels and NAPA insurgents. A suppressed version is also used by Russian Spetznaz soldiers.
Beretta M9
The Beretta M9 pistol is the standard sidearm of the United States Marine Corps. Typically carried by squad leaders and officers, a suppressed version of the pistol is also used by members of Team Razor.
Glock 17
The Glock 17 is a new weapon in the Operation Arrowhead expansion, offered in standard and silenced variants.
Sub-Machine guns
Heckler & Koch MP5SD6
The MP5SD6 submachine gun, distinguished by the presence of single, burst and auto firing modes and a Navy trigger group, is available in the game, though it is not standard equipment among any of the factions.
Heckler & Koch MP5A5
The MP5A5 submachine gun is used by USMC pilots.
PP-19 Bizon
The PP-19 Bizon submachine gun makes a return from Operation Flashpoint, and is used by Russian Spetznaz anti-tank soldiers and sappers.
Assault Rifles
AKM
The AKM rifle is carried by various ChKDZ insurgent and NAPA guerrilla units.
AKMS
The AKMS rifle is also commonly seen in the hands of ChKDZ insurgents, NAPA guerrillas and CDF militia soldiers. A special gold version of the rifle (similar to the special AK-47 in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare) is also programmed to occasionally appear in the hands of insurgents as an easter egg.
AK-74
The AK-74 rifle appears in a standard variant and one fitted with a GP-30 grenade launcher, and serves as the standard weapon of the Chernarussian Defence Forces. Some ChKDZ and NAPA units also use AK-74s.
AKS-74
The AKS-74 is available either with a Kobra red dot sight or a PSO-1 scope, and is used by squad leaders in the CDF, ChKDZ and NAPA factions.
AKS-74U
The AKS-74U is used by tank crew and pilots in the CDF, ChKDZ, NAPA and Russian Army factions, as well as by Spetznaz operators (in the form of the silenced AKS-74UN version).
AK-107
The AK-107 is the standard rifle of the Russian Army and MVD forces, although in real life they continue to use the AK-74M. The weapon is available with either Kobra or PSO-1 optics and can mount a GP-30 grenade launcher.
SA Vz.58
Czech Army soldiers in the Operation Arrowhead expansion use SA Vz.58 assault rifles, painted in desert camouflage colors and equipped with red dot or ACOG sights.
M16A2
The M16A2 rifle is available as a weapon in the game, though it is not normally used by any of the factions. A version with the M203 grenade launcher is also available.
M16A4
The M16A4 rifle is the standard rifle of the United States Marine Corps, and is available in many variations. The weapon is available with either Aimpoint M68 CCO or Trijicon ACOG sights and can also come with a M203 grenade launcher.
M4A1
M4A1 carbines are used by USMC vehicle crews, as well as by most of the Force Recon operators. The M4A1 has the most variations of any of the weapons in the game, including versions with Aimpoint, ACOG and EOTech sights, M203 grenade launchers or suppressor.
Heckler & Koch G36
The Heckler & Koch G36 rifle is not used by any of the game's factions (with the exception of the G36C that is used by a CDhKZ faction leader), but is available in the mission editor for single or multiplayer scenarios. Three versions are available: the G36A with ZF 3x4° dual optical sights, the G36K and the two versions of the G36C, including one with a suppressor and an EOTech sight. In the Operation Arrowhead expansion, German Kommando Spezialkräfte (KSK) soldiers utilized camouflaged versions of the G36A, G36K and G36C as their standard weapons.
Heckler & Koch XM8
Also available in the mission editor is the Heckler & Koch XM8, a weapon originally intended for ArmA: Combat Operations that was later ported to ArmA II. Many versions are available, including the standard XM8, one with a Heckler & Koch M320 grenade launcher, the XM8 compact and the XM8 Marksman.
FN SCAR-L (Mk. 16 Mod 0)
The FN SCAR-L is the new main weapon of U.S Army soldiers in the Operation Arrowhead' expansion. The rifle comes in several configurations, including versions with the FN EGLM grenade launcher and new thermal sights.
FN SCAR-H (Mk. 17 Mod 0)
U.S Army soldiers in Operation Arrowhead also able able to use the FN SCAR-H rifle in several configurations.
Rifles
FN-FAL
The FN FAL rifle is the standard weapon of Takistani Army soldiers in the Operation Arrowhead expansion.
Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk. I
Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk.I rifles is by Takistani militiamen in the Operation Arrowhead expansion.
M14
The M14 rifle is available to U.S Army soldiers in the Operation Arrowhead, without any significant modifications beyond the addition of an Aimpoint sight.
Sniper Rifles
M14 DMR
The M14 Designated Marksman Rifle is the standard rifle of USMC marksmen, and is also used by Force Recon sniper Staff Sergeant Randall "Ice Cold" Sykes.
M24
The Remington M24 Sniper Rifle is another weapon that has been carried over from ArmA:Combat Operations and is available in the mission editor. In the Operation Arrowhead expansion, A desert-camouflaged M24 is the standard U.S Army sniper rifle.
M40A3
The Remington M40A3 rifle, camouflaged with Ghille material, is the standard weapon for USMC snipers. Besides the aesthetic differences, the weapon is otherwise identical in performance to the M24.
Mk 12 Mod 0 SPR
The Mk 12 Mod 0 SPR rifle is used by USMC Force Recon marksmen.
Barrett M107
The Barrett M107 is used by USMC anti-material snipers.
M110 SASS
U.S Army Special Forces soldiers can use the KAC M110 SASS in the Operation Arrowhead expansion.
SVD Dragunov
The SVD Dragunov is available either in standard or camouflaged configurations and is used by all of the Chernarussian factions along with the Russian military.
VSS Vintorez
The silenced VSS Vintorez sniper rifle is used by Russian Spetznaz and MVD units.
KSVK
Russian anti-material snipers use the KSVK sniper rifle.
CZ-550
The Czech-designed, Mauser based CZ-550 hunting rifle is used by ChDKZ guerrillas, NAPA insurgents and civilian hunters.
Machine Guns
RPK-74
The RPK-74 light machine gun is available to the Chernarussian and Russian factions, and is inaccurately portrayed as being equipped with a 75 round drum magazine.
PKM Machine Gun
The PK Machine Gun is used by all of the factions except for the USMC, and is also seen in fixed positions and in tanks as the PKT.
PKP Pecheneg Machine Gun
The PKP Pecheneg is used exclusively by Russian forces, and is equipped with an optical sight.
DShKM Heavy Machine Gun
DShK heavy machine guns are seen in fixed positions and mounted on pickup trucks and jeeps by the CDF, ChDKZ and NAPA forces.
Kord Heavy Machine Gun
The Kord heavy machine gun is used by Russian forces, both in fixed and vehicle-mounted positions.
Heckler & Koch MG36
The Heckler & Koch MG36 is available in the editor and is equipped with a Beta C-Mag drum magazine and EOTech sights.
Heckler & Koch XM8 Automatic Rifle
The Heckler & Koch XM8 Automatic Rifle is another XM8 variant available in the editor.
M249 SAW
U.S Marines use the M249 SAW as their standard infantry support weapon.
M249 SAW Paratrooper
U.S Army soldiers in the upcoming Operation Arrowhead expansion will be equipped with M249 SAW Paratrooper machine guns.
M240G Machine Gun
The M240G Machine Gun is used by USMC forces both as an infantry weapon and mounted on up-armored Humvees and SH-60 Seahawk helicopters.
M60E4
The M60E4 Machine Gun will appear in Operation Arrowhead in the hands of Czech Special Forces soldiers.
GE M134 Minigun
M134 Miniguns are mounted on USMC UH-1Y 'Venom' helicopters.
Mk 48 Mod 0 Light Machine Gun
USMC Force Recon soldiers, most notably Sergeant Chad 'Robo' Rodriguez, use camouflaged Mk 48 Mod 0 machine guns as their main support weapons.
Browning M2HB Heavy Machine Gun
Browning M2 machine guns are mounted on fixed tripods and on many USMC vehicles, including the Humvee and the M1A2 Abrams.
Izh
Shotguns
Benelli M1014 JSCS
The Benelli M1014 JSCS is the standard combat shotgun of the USMC faction. However, the weapon only fires slug ammunition, making it only of limited use for most players.
Izhmash Saiga 12K
The Izhmash Saiga 12K combat shotgun is used by the Russian Federation faction, and like the M1014, fires only slug ammunition.
Grenade Launchers
M203
The M203 grenade launcher can be mounted on the M16A2, M16A4 and M4A1 rifles.
XM320
The Heckler & Koch M320 grenade launcher is mounted on the XM8 rifle.
FN EGLM/ Mk. 13 Mod 0
The FN EGLM will be mounted on FN SCAR rifles in the upcoming Operation Arrowhead expansion.
Milkor M32 MGL
U.S Army soldiers will be able to use the Milkor M32 MGL in the upcoming Operation Arrowhead expansion.
GP-30
The GP-30 grenade launcher can be mounted on AK-74 and AK-107 rifles.
Mk. 19
The Mk 19 grenade launcher is available as a static weapon or mounted atop of USMC Humvees.
AGS-30
The AGS-30 automatic grenade launcher is available either as a static weapon or mounted atop of UAZ jeeps.
Anti-Tank weapons
RPG-7V
The RPG-7 is used by all of the game's factions with the exception of the USMC, and can use different warheads including the anti-infantry OG-7 rocket or the tandem charge PG-7VR.
RPG-18
The RPG-18 is a single-shot disposable launcher used by the Russian forces, and in the game functions similarly to the USMC's M136 AT4.
AT-13 Saxhorn-2 (9K115-2 Metis-M)
The AT-13 Saxhorn 2 is available to the Russian Federation as a static ATGM launcher. Like the BGM-171 TOW, the missile requires the operator to guide it to the target.
M136 AT-4
The M136 AT4 launcher is carried by USMC forces. Although multiple launchers can be carried, only one appears on the character's back, giving the false impression that the weapon can be reloaded.
Mk 153 Mod 0 SMAW
The Mk 153 Mod 0 SMAW rocket launcher is used by USMC forces. The weapon can fire either High-Explosive Dual Purpose (HEDP) or High-Explosive Anti-Armour (HEAA) rounds.
Carl Gustav M3 MAAWS
Introduced in the Operation Arrowhead expansion, the Carl Gustav M3 Medium Anti-Armor Weapons System will be available to U.S Army soldiers.
FGM-148 Javelin
The FGM-148 Javelin launcher is used by USMC anti-tank units in the original game and by U.S Army soldiers in the Operation Arrowhead expansion.
BGM-71 TOW
BGM-71 TOW launchers are available to USMC forces either as static launchers or mounted on top of Humvees. Like the AT-13 Saxhorn, the missiles are guided by the player.
Anti-Air weapons
SA-7 Grail (9K32 Strela-2)
The SA-7 Grail is a man-portable air defense system (MANPADS) that is used by the ChDKZ, CDF and NAPA forces. The weapon is also available as a static weapon featuring two launchers.
SA-18 Grouse (9K38 Igla)
The SA-18 Igla MANPADS was designed as the replacement to the SA-7 Grail, with improved resistance to counter-measures and a more accurate seeker. In the game, it is used exclusively by Russian forces.
FIM-92A Stinger
the FIM-92A Stinger MANPADS is the standard Anti-Aircraft weapon available to USMC forces, and is also mounted on the M1097 Avenger system.
Fire Support
SPG-9 Recoiless Rifle
The SPG-9 recoiless rifle is used by ChKDZ and NAPA factions as a static weapon, or mounted on UAZ jeeps.
ZSU-23-2 Anti-Aircraft gun
The ZSU-23-2 is available either as a static mount or mounted on an Ural truck as a dual purpose anti-aircraft/anti-infantry weapon.
Podnos 2B14 82mm mortar
The Podnos 2B14 82mm mortar is the standard mortar of the Russian Federation faction.
M252 81mm mortar
The M252 81mm mortar is the American equivalent of the Podnos 2B14, and functions similarly in-game.
