Revision as of 03:08, 11 May 2010
The following weapons were used in the videogame Resident Evil 2:
Browning Hi-Power
The Browning Hi-Power is Claire's primary weapon. Claire finds it in a police car glove compartment during the intro FMV. The pistol is also used by Ada Wong during the mini mission where the player controls her. Ada's Browning HP is held slightly at an angle and is fired faster than Claire's HP Pistol. Annette and William Birkin are also seen using the weapon during the FMV cutscene.
Heckler & Koch VP70M
This is Leon's primary weapon. It's also in Hunk's inventory in his bonus game. Leon finds the shoulder stock parts in the police station to upgrade this to fire a 3-round burst.
This is the very first weapon in the series that supports 3-round burst mode, and with the stock attached, Leon changes his firing stance. The damage from each shot remains the same, but the 3-round burst will always knock a zombie down.
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
The U.S.S Squad uses these during the FMV cutscene but not usable during game play. On a side note, the weapons do not appear to have been modeled with an ejection port.
Colt Single Action Army
Claire receives this weapon when she unlocks her second outfit. It is chambered in the standard 9mm pistol rounds which is odd for a revolver of this type as it was commonly loaded with .45 Long Colt Ammunition. Claire fire's the SAA from the hip, it's quite fast in rate of fire using the western style rapid fire hip shooting and reloads extremely quickly.
This is is unusual for the weapon as each shell had to be hand ejected with the ejector rod. The weapon acts more like a breaktop S&W Schofield.
Think this has any connection to RE4's Broken butterfly-User:Big guns 100
Desert Eagle
Leon finds this weapon in a guard shack next to a dead guard Scenario "A" or in the S.T.A.R.S. Weapon safe in Scenario B. You find parts in the underground facility to extend the barrel and increase its firepower but also increases its recoil. It's most likely to be a Mark VII version with the addition of the 10 Inch Barrel.
The weapon is chambered in .50 caliber AE and holds 8 rounds. This is odd as a .50 AE only holds 7 rounds while a .44 Magnum holds 8.
Hunk also carries this weapon in it's original form in his bonus game.
It has a custom wooden grip.
MAC-11
This weapon is first available to the player when they reach the police armory. Both Claire or Leon can take the weapon, but if the weapon is taken by one character in Scenario "A" the other character will not be able to get the weapon in Scenario "B" until very late in the game. Unlike the other firearms, the ammunition is represented in percentage form and 1% equals 5 bullets fired.
The in-game description says the caliber is .380 signifying that it is a MAC-11. It also feature's a rather large Barrel Extension. In game, the weapon appears much larger than it's real life counterpart, roughly about the same size as a small assault rifle.
Remington Model 1100
This is the customized version of the Model 1100P. It has been upgraded with a full stock, a semi-automatic action (though the time between shots is almost the same, due to Leon being blown back a step from the recoil), and the power is upgraded to the point where it can blow away the upper torso of zombies, rather than just the head.
Remington Model 1100P
Leon first acquires this weapon from the Gunshop from the recently deceased owner, Robert Kendo. It has a pistol grip and the barrel has been Sawn Off, Kendo gets a shot off in Scenario A before Leon picks up the weapon giving it 4 rounds, but has a maximum of 5. A second Shotgun can be found in the S.T.A.R.S. Office in Scenario A and one can be found on the front desk of the Police Station main hall in Scenario B.
Hunk carries this weapon as well in his mini game.
Claire never uses this gun in the film but it appears she is holding it in Resident Evil:Degeneration.
M79 grenade launcher
Claire obtains this weapon in the STARS office. The stock is sawed off in a Vietnam SOG style. The weapon fire's an array of fictional rounds, from Cluster Bomb Burst Rounds, Sulphuric Acid Rounds and Napalm Flame Rounds.
Spark Shot
Only Claire obtains this weapon. The Spark Shot seems to be a short range stun gun with a higher voltage over normal stun guns.
Bow Gun
A crossbow capable of firing three arrows at a target at one time. Claire obtains this weapon at Kendo's gun store, taking it from Kendo's corspe after she kills the zombies that killed him or in the police station if she chooses not to do so at the time Kendo's death. The weapon holds 18 arrows or bolts at a time
Flame Thrower
Available only for Leon, is a portable chemical flamethrower found in the labs, is used primarily on the Ivy Creatures.
FIM-92 Stinger
Either Leon or Claire use this weapon to dispatch the T-103 in their 'B' scenarios.
Minigun
A three-barreled minigun (known simply as the Gatling Gun) is a secret weapon with unlimited ammo that can only be acquired if the player Completes the Scenario B game in under 2 1/2 hours without saving and gets a grade of A or B.
