Henry 1860

Carver (Liam Neeson) uses an Henry 1860 rifle in the beginning of the film. It is an iron frame Henry that was developed to replace the original brass frame. Henry rifles were far too expensive to be issued in large numbers during the war, most were purchased my individual soldiers with their own money. The majority of the examples we see today were bought after the war when the popularity of the Henry was at its peak and before the introduction of the 1866.

Colt Dragoon

Carver (Liam Neeson) also carries a Colt Dragoon .44 caliber as his personal sidearm. This, again, is appropriate for the time period (and even a bit out-dated!), though it appears to be converted for cartridges.

Colt 1849 Pocket

Madame Louise (Angelica Houston) sells Carver a Colt 1849 Pocket model with a Confederate-style brass frame. It has been converted to fire metallic cartridges, which is odd because I've always been told that brass-framed percussion pistols can't take the pressures that metallic cartridges produce.

Smith & Wesson Schofield

Hayes (Michael Wincott) carries what appears to be a Smith & Wesson Schofield, which would be anachronistic for this movie.
