Carver ([[Liam Neeson]]) uses what I think is supposed to be a [[Henry 1860]] rifle in the beginning of the film.  A Henry would be period-appropriate since the movie takes place in the 1860s just after the Civil War. I've never seen a Henry without a brass receiver, though, so it seems probable that this is a later gun, possibly a [[Winchester Model 1876]] with the fore-end removed.  Anyone else know?  It's odd that they'd do this when the rest of the movie uses period-appropriate weapons.

Henry 1860

Carver (Liam Neeson) uses what I think is supposed to be a Henry 1860 rifle in the beginning of the film. A Henry would be period-appropriate since the movie takes place in the 1860s just after the Civil War. It is an iron frame Henry that was developed to replace the original brass frame

Colt Dragoon

Carver (Liam Neeson) also carries a Colt Dragoon .44 caliber as his personal sidearm. This, again, is appropriate for the time period (and even a bit out-dated!), though it appears to be converted for cartridges.

Colt 1849 Pocket

Madame Louise (Angelica Houston) sells Carver a Colt 1849 Pocket model with a Confederate-style brass frame. It has been converted to fire metallic cartridges, which is odd because I've always been told that brass-framed percussion pistols can't take the pressures that metallic cartridges produce.

Smith & Wesson Schofield

Hayes (Michael Wincott) carries what appears to be a Smith & Wesson Schofield, which would be anachronistic for this movie.
