The SPAS 12 is the resident shotgun in the game, and is seen being used by Raccoon City Police Officers (most notably, Officer Raymond Douglas in the "Outbreak" scenario). It has a capacity of seven 12 Gauge shells. For a shotgun, it has appalling damage drop-off at long range, which is often typical in most video games, only showing the shotgun as a close range damage weapon. The SPAS 12 has a wide spread pattern in-game, and is often capable of hitting multiple targets.

Resident Evil Outbreak: File #1

Resident Evil Outbreak: File #1

Resident Evil Outbreak: File #1 is an Online capable Resident Evil game released for the Playstation 2. It revolves around specific survivors attempting to escape from Raccoon City.

Besides the colossal amount of "Melee" type weaponry, various firearms are featured in-game. These weapons feature a damage drop-off, the further the enemy, the less damage that weapon will do.

Firearms in this game are handled differently from previous Resident Evil Games. They suffer from damage drop-off, the further the enemy, the less damage that weapon will do.

Also most weapons reload slowly, characters that are wielding high capacity weapons such as handguns or Machine Gun type weapons require Magazines to reload quickly, otherwise bullets are inserted individually into the magazine but are shown as if the bullets are inserted into the chamber of the weapon, possibly an inaccuracy on capcom's part.

Pistols

Beretta M92FS (Handgun)

Error creating thumbnail: File missing

Said to be Standard for RPD Officers and is simply labeled as the "Handgun" in-game. It carries 15 rounds of 9x19mm Parabellum and is the most common firearm in the game. Kevin and Alyssa are capable of performing the "Pot-Shot" ability, which increases damage on a per shot basis.

Mark Wilkins, one of the Survivors of the game, carriers a customized Beretta that supposedly inflicts less damage than other handgun, but the damage stays consistent at longer ranges than the traditional Handgun, it is named "Mark's Handgun" and cannot be transferred amongst Characters.

A Handgun Magazine can be found for this weapon in select stages that drastically reduces the reload time, however the Magazine is merely swapped out and that magazine must be reloaded with a new set of bullets.

SIG P228 (Handgun SG)

The SIG P228 is one of the Handgun's commonly found in the "Below Freezing Point" Chapter and is called the "Handgun SG". It fires 9x19mm Parabellum rounds in 13 round magazines. It feature's the worst damage drop-off, doing the most damage at close range. Unlike the Beretta, a Magazine cannot be found for this weapon.

Both Kevin and Alyssa can use their "pot-shot" ability to increase the damage on a per shot basis.

Beretta M93R (Burst Handgun)

Error creating thumbnail: File missing

Called the Burst Handgun in-game, the Beretta M93R is found inside "The Hive" Chapter. It carries 20 rounds a magazine and uses 9x19mm Parabellum Rounds. It fires in 3 round bursts only and does signifcantly less damage than the other handguns, however it can fire 3 times as fast doing 3 times the damage, so it counters this.

It feature's the same damage drop-off as the Beretta M92FS but lower accuracy as a result. Kevin and Alyssa can NOT use their "Pot-shot" ability to increase the damage of the weapon on a per shot basis.

Colt M1911 (.45 Auto for Kevin)

Note the writing on the slide, lack of a finger groove, small hammer, and other features.

The ".45 Auto for Kevin" seems to be an original run Colt M1911 Pistol with A1 style grips. While the miniature item icon in-game shows brown wooden grips, both the promo shot and the actual in-game model are all-black.

In the game, the .45 Auto is the most powerful non-magnum handgun available. No magazines are available to rapidly reload, and ammunition for it (.45 Auto Rounds) is scarce. It has an accurately-depicted 7 round capacity magazine, making manual reloading relatively quick. Kevin can use his "Pot Shot" ability to increase the damage dealt with each shot by 4x, and the weapon features excellent damage drop-off at range, similar to Mark's Handgun. As this is Kevin's "Special Item," it cannot be given to any other character, but all "Kevin-Type" NPC's (Costumes) come equipped with it.

Shotguns

SPAS 12 (Shotgun)

File:FSpas12origin.jpg

The SPAS 12 is the resident shotgun in the game, and is seen being used by Raccoon City Police Officers (most notably, Officer Raymond Douglas in the "Outbreak" scenario). It has a capacity of seven 12 Gauge shells. For a shotgun, it has appalling damage drop-off at long range, which is often typical in most video games, only showing the shotgun as a close range damage weapon. The SPAS 12 has a wide spread pattern in-game, and is often capable of hitting multiple targets.

Magnums

S&W Model 29 (Magnum Revolver)

The S&W Model 29 is featured as the game's magnum revolver and is simply called "Magnum Revolver". It fire's .44 Magnum Bullets and features a 6 round capacity. It's the most powerful non-explosive weapon available, and the damage is increased 4x times when Kevin or Alyssa use their "pot-shot" ability.

A speed loader can be found for the Magnum Revolver that drastically reduces the reload time, but like the Handgun Magazine, the speed loader must be reloaded again before use.

IMI Desert Eagle (Magnum Handgun)

Error creating thumbnail: File missing

The IMI Desert Eagle, also known as the "Magnum Handgun" is another type of magnum found in the game, mostly in the "Below Freezing Point" Chapter as Yoko. It carries 7 rounds a magazine and uses "Magnum rounds", despite the weapon description saying it's a .50 calibre weapon, it does slightly less damage than the S&W M29 which is .44 Magnum. The benefit of this however, is it can fire faster than the Magnum Revolver. Kevin and Alyssa can however use their "Pot-Shot" ability to increase the damage on a per shot basis.

Automatic's

MP5A4 (Sub-Machine Gun)

Error creating thumbnail: File missing

The MP5A4, called the Sub-Machine Gun is found in "The Hive" chapter when playing as either Kevin or Cindy. It fires 9x19mm Parabellum "Handgun Ammo" from 30 round magazines, but this is a problem in the game as their no separate magazine for the weapon to be reloaded. It has one of the longest reload times in the game as a result. It's fitted with a fixed Stock and Tactical flash light, which is never used in-game and is always held at the hip. It does much less damage than the Beretta despite using the same round.

This can be found in "The Hive" scenario if Kevin or Cindy speaks to the mortally wounded officer on the hospital roof.

MP5A5

Error creating thumbnail: File missing

The MP5A5 is used in the opening cut scene, used by the Umbrella Special Forces. It feature's the tactical light of the A4, but also feature's a red-dot sight. In certain scenes it changes to a normal MP5A5 without the sight and then changes back. Likely a continuity error. This weapon is never used in-game.

Colt M4 Carbine (Assault Rifle)

Error creating thumbnail: File missing

The Colt M4 Assault rifle, also just called "Assault Rifle" is found in the "Decisions, Decisions" Chapter. It fires 5.56mm rounds from 30 round magazines and unlike other weapons, the only ammunition available is in the form of Assault Rifle Magazines. It fire's rapidly but seems to do the same damage as the Beretta despite using a full size rifle round. Like the MP5A4 it is held at the Hip.

In some cutscenes soldiers can be scene with M4A1 rifles with attached M203 Grenade Launchers.

M2 Browning

Error creating thumbnail: File missing

The M2 Browning is only seen in cut scenes, the first in the ending cut scenes of the "Outbreak" stage and again in the ending with Mark and David. It is never seen or used outside of Cut scenes.

Launchers

M79 (Grenade Launcher)

Error creating thumbnail: File missing

The M79, called the "Grenade Launcher" often followed with the type of round loaded is a single shot, breach loading grenade launcher seen in the game. It fire's two different types of the rounds in File #1, Burst rounds and fictional Acid Rounds. It is found in two several chapters, most notably "Hellfire" and "Decisions, Decisions".

M136 AT4 (Rocket Launcher)

Error creating thumbnail: File missing

The AT4, is featured in the game as the main Rocket Launcher. Like the real life version, it fires only a single shot before being disposed of. The weapon is only seen in the chapter "Decisions, Decisions". It takes a while to aim the weapon, as the character crouches just before firing it.

Other weapons

Nail Gun

While not a weapon per se, the weapon is treated like a very weak handgun. It only carries 20 nails and there is no reload for it. Kevin or Alyssa can use their "Pot-Shot" ability to increase the damage on a per shot basis.

Crosman 2240 Air Pistol (Ampule Shooter)

This weapon is a speciality weapon that fire's a dart full of "Daylight" Serum, a possible cure for the T-Virus and G-Virus. It fire's only a single shot, but can be used to kill the Thanatos tyrant with a single shot.
