Grindhouse is a Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino double feature consisting of two feature films (also released separatley) Death Proof and Planet Terror among with fake trailers directed by Rob Zombie, Eli Roth, Edgar Wright , Robert Rodriguez and Jason Eisener.
Feature film segments
Machete
Machete is the first fake trailer seen in the movie, and actually the first one to be made. It was also featured in Planet Terror separate release. It was directed by Robert Rodriguez and starring Danny Trejo as the titular character, mexican assasin among with Jeff Fahey and Cheech Marin. A feature film based on this trailer but with different cast (for example Fahey was replaced by Robert De Niro in the role of corrupt senator) will appeare in theaters in 2010.
Table Guns and Knives
After the senator hires Machete. The camera pans on several guns. This scene is similar to Escape from New York. Which John Carpenter directed, Robert Rodriguez uses music scores similar to John Carpenter themes during the film. Interdynamic KG-9 / Intratec TEC-9 clearly visible.

Hobo with a shotgun
Hobo with a shotgun is a fake action film trailer directed by canadian filmmaker David Eisener and featuring David Brunt in a titular role of hobo, that turned into vigilante while witnessing a robbery. Trailer was a winner of "Soth to the southwest" festival and was, as a present featured in som screenings of Grindhouse, mostly in Canada. It was also featured in DVD releases of Grindhouse as an extra.
Unknown 20-gauge shotgun
