U-571 is a 2000 WWII military action film starring Matthew McConaughey as a US naval officer who finds himself the leader of a secret mission to capture the German coding machine known as the Enigma aboard a German U-Boat.

The M1911A1 is the standard issue sidearm of the US sailors in the film. Seen predominantly in the hands or holsters of Lt. Andrew Tyler (Matthew McConaughey) & CPO Henry Klough (Harvey Keitel).
