The following guns were used in the movie A History of Violence
M1911
An M1911 is featured on the US promotional film poster of A History of Violence. Tom Stall (Viggo Mortensen) strips Leland (Stephen McHattie) of a .45 ACP 1911 of unknown make and uses it to kill both Billy and Leland as they try to rob Tom's diner.
Smith & Wesson Model 13
In the opening scene of A History of Violence we see Billy (Greg Bryk) murder a little girl holding a stuffed animal in a motel office with a 3" Smith & Wesson Model 13. Billy is later killed by Tom Stall (Viggo Mortensen) while holding the same revolver in Tom's diner.
Beretta 92FS
The second of Carl Fogarty's (Ed Harris') henchmen pulls a Beretta 92FS before being killed by Tom Stall (Viggo Mortensen) with an Inox version of the same gun.
Beretta Inox
Tom Stall (Viggo Mortensen) kills the second of Carl Fogarty's (Ed Harris) henchmen with a Beretta 92FS Inox he strips off the first. Later, in Richy Cusack's (William Hurt) house, Tom acquires another Beretta Inox after killing one of Richy's henchmen, and then uses it to shoot Richy in the head.
SIG-Sauer P220
Carl Fogarty (Ed Harris) packs a SIG-Sauer P220 chambered in .45 ACP (as can be discerned by looking closely at the bore). He fires one shot into Tom Stall's (Viggo Mortensen) shoulder before being killed by Jack Stall (Ashton Holmes). Tom then picks up the P220.
Unknown Shotgun
We see the Stall family's breech-loading double barreled shotgun in the hands of all the Stalls. Ultimately Jack Stall (Ashton Holmes) uses the shotgun to kill Carl Fogarty (Ed Harris).
Walther P99
After his henchmen fail to kill Tom Stall (Viggo Mortensen), Richy Cusack (William Hurt) reaches into his desk drawer and pulls out a two-tone Walther P99 with a stainless slide. He shoots at Tom with this weapon, but does not hit him. He then shoots one of his injured henchmen for failing to kill Tom.
