Fletch is a 1985 comedy starring Chevy Chase as a Los Angeles newspaper reporter who is given an unusual proposal by a wealthy man.

A Smith & Wesson Model 29 chambered for the .357 Magnum is the weapon Alan Stanwyck (Tim Matheson) wants Fletch (Chevy Chase) to use to kill him.
Smith & Wesson Model 36
The Smith & Wesson Model 36 is the weapon used by several cops in the film. One of the detectives that arrest Fletch in his apartment puts one to his head. Chief Karlin (Joe Don Baker) also aims one at Fletch in the police lockup.
Ithaca 37
A man who confronts Fletch at a house is armed with an Ithaca 37.
