M1 Garands are used by a vast majority of the US Marines in the film including Medic John "Doc" Bradley (Ryan Phillippe ), Corporal Rene Gagnon (Jesse Bradford ), Corporal Harlon Block (Benjamin Walker ), Private First Class Ralph "Iggy" Ignatowski (Jamie Bell ), Pfc. Franklin Sousley (Joseph Cross ), and Sergeant Hank Hansen (Paul Walker ).
