Remington 870

Kenneth (Ving Rhames) uses a police issue Remington 870 shotgun fitted with a Surefire flashlight attachment on the foregrip as his signature weapon. He uses it for most of the film until the survivors go to rescue Nicole (Lindy Booth). He loses the weapon when it runs out of ammunition and a zombie grabs it out of his hand. -The gun was also used by Anna (Sarah Polley) early in the film to incapacitate the undead Ben Cozine.

Beretta 92FS Inox

Andre (Mekhi Phifer) uses a Beretta 92FS Inox as his weapon. This pistol is also used by other characters, mainly CJ (Michael Kelly) when he clears out the metropolis area of the mall of any zombies. Kenneth (Ving Rhames) also gets ahold of this weapon when he disarms CJ and holds it on him during the argument on the rooftop of the mall. Steve (Ty Burrell) can also been seen with a Beretta Inox with a blued trigger, hammer, safety, disassembly latch, and slide release when he gets out of the crashed bus, a continuity error is seen when the referred parts are stainless when he checks the gun's load.

Smith & Wesson Model 27 / 28

One of the mall's security guards, CJ (Michael Kelly) is seen with a Smith & Wesson Model 27 .357 Magnum when we first see him. Later in the film, a struggle ensues between the survivors that are currently in the mall and the former security guards on whether or not to let more survivors into the mall with CJ threatening to kill everyone to stay alive, but when he is distracted, the survivors disarm both CJ and Bart (Michael Barry). The revolver is then mainly used by Michael (Jake Weber) for the rest of the film.

Terry (Kevin Zegers) uses a Smith & Wesson Model 13 throughout the film. Bart (Michael Barry) can also be seen with a Smith & Wesson Model 13 revolver before it is taken from him by the other survivors.

Mossberg 500 Cruiser/Remington 870(Compact)

One of the survivors, Tucker (Boyd Banks) has a Mossberg 500 Cruiser with a pistol grip. This weapon is also used by Micheal (Jake Weber) and CJ (Michael Kelly).

Tucker's shotgun switched brands several times during the movie. In all the static shots it was a Mossberg 500 Cruiser ....but during firing shots, it was switched for a short Remington 870 as the close up below shows.

M40A1

The owner of the gun store across the street, Andy (Bruce Bohne) has an M40 sniper rifle rifle with a folding bipod which he uses to play Hollywood Squares with the other survivors stranded in the mall on the other side of the street in which Kenneth (Ving Rhames) shows Andy a celebrity's name on a dry erase board, and Andy puts a bullet in the zombie look-a-like's head. CJ (Michael Kelly) later uses Andy's rifle to explode a propane tank to clear a path to the sewers for the other survivors.

Smith & Wesson Model 66

Norma (Jayne Eastwood) uses a silver Smith & Wesson Model 66 Snub Nose. Later when Norma dies, Ana ((Sarah Polley)) uses this weapon to kill a zombified baby, and it is also seen when the survivors go to rescue Nicole (Lindy Booth) at Andy's (Bruce Bohne).

Heckler & Koch USP

When Kenneth (Ving Rhames), CJ (Michael Kelly), Terry (Kevin Zegers), and Michael (Jake Weber) enter Andy's (Bruce Bohne) gun store to rescue Nicole (Lindy Booth), they find an unloaded H&K USP laying on the bloody floor. This is presumed to be the gun Andy was using to fend off zombies while letting Chips, outfitted with food, through a doggy door before being bitten and infected by a zombie.

Custom Remington 870

After the survivors rescue Nicole (Lindy Booth) and load up at the gun store, Kenneth (Ving Rhames) packs a Custom Remington 870 shotgun fitted with a magazine extension tube and Mossberg style ghost ring sights (this is possible since some parts are easily swapped between Remington 870 and Mossberg 500 series shotguns) and uses it while the remaining survivors make their escape out of Milwaukee. Kenneth most notably uses this shotgun when he blows the top half of a zombified Andy's (Bruce Bohne's) head off. Ving also knows how to use a weapon effectively, because he doesn't flinch excessively and whenever he isn't firing, he demonstrates the excellent trigger discipline of a Marine.

Franchi PA8

When the survivors load up at the Andy's (Bruce Bohne) gun store, CJ (Michael Kelly) arms himself with a Franchi PA8 with a factory folding stock and high-capacity magazine tube, and uses it while they make their escape out of Milwaukee. From the report of the gun and the look of the wounds it inflicts, it seems he is using rifled slugs.

Glock 21

After the survivors load up at the gun store, several Glock 21s are seen afterwards. CJ (Michael Kelly) hands a pair to a wounded Tucker (Boyd Banks) to fight off the zombies chasing them in the sewers while they make their way back to the mall, CJ also uses one of these pistols as his back up weapon, and uses it to to explode a propane tank and sacrifice himself at the docks so that the zombies can't reach the remaining survivors, and the last Glock 21 we see is the one Michael (Jake Weber) uses to commit suicide after we learn he was bitten and infected while the other survivors sail away on Steve's (Ty Burrell) boat.

A magazine drops out of CJ's Glock, ".45" can be seen engraved at the top of the magazine, this suggest the model of the gun is a Glock 21 chambered in .45 ACP.

CJ uses his Glock 21 to ignite a flare before shooting a propane tank, causing the bus he's in to explode. Triva note: Micheal Kelly did actually ignite the flare by firing the blank gun close to it, something the crew did not expect to happen on the first take.

Revolver "Non Gun"

While the survivors make their escape out of Milwaukee, Ana (Sarah Polley) uses a revolver "non gun", which temporarily replaces her Smith & Wesson Model 66, to put a bullet into the head of a zombified Steve (Ty Burrell). This "Non gun" was used because Polley was close to Burrell when shooting this scene, and at such close range, blanks can be considered unsafe, so a "non gun" was used.

SIG-Sauer SSG 3000

In some scenes, Andy (Bruce Bohne) can be seen with what looks like a SIG-Sauer SSG 3000 although he used an M40A1 in the film, but it's possible that it could have been one of the many other guns in Andy's store.
