The Sterling is a 9mm submachine gun that was at one time a standard issue weapon in the armies of Britain and many Commonwealth countries.  It is unusual in that the magazine protrudes from the side of the receiver rather than the bottom, as as is the case with most SMGs.  Another noteworthy design feature is the very clever folding stock.
