Ruger Vaquero
This revolver, probably a .45 Colt was Sheriff Winston's (Lew Temple) duty sidearm. He pulls it on Leatherface near the beginning of the film to apprehend him but is killed by Hoyt who replaces him as Sheriff. Sheriff Hoyt (R. Lee Ermey) then carries it as his sidearm throughout the film and once uses it to threaten Bailey shortly after the car accident.
U.S. Army Model 1911
When the biker chick begins chasing the jeep on her bike threatening the kids with a sawed off shotgun. Eric (Matthew Bomer) opens his glove compartment and draws this U.S. Army issue M1911. He aims it but they then get in a car accident. The gun then ends up in the hands of Monty (Terrence Evans) who pockets it to keep for himself from the wreckage before Chrissie can get a hold of it.

Sheriff Hoyt (R. Lee Ermey) takes this shotgun off the original sheriff's, Sheriff Winston's dashboard and uses it to kill him with a shot to the head when hes trying to apprehend Thomas/ Leatherface. Hoyt then replaces him as the new Sheriff and uses it throughout the movie. He uses it to kill a biker chick and then uses it to threaten the stranded kids through the rest of the film.
