Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
Left 4 Dead 2 is the direct sequel to the Co-op Game, Left 4 Dead.
Pistols
SIG P226
A SIG P226 is now the standard handgun for the Survivors. The pistol is completely stainless with could mean that it was based off the SIG Sauer P226 Elite Stainless, although that model features a beaver tail grip while the pistol in the game does not. The factory sights have been replaced to unkown custom type sights. It's equipped with an underbarrel tactical flashlight. Magazine capacity of 15 rounds.
Glock 19
A Glock model is seen used as the second handgun for dual wielding, judging by the size of the magazine when counted on, it's a Glock 19. It does not feature the flashlight at the moment. Magazine capacity is also 15 rounds.
Desert Eagle
A Desert Eagle is seen during gamplay at PAX 2009, it seems that the Magnum can be obtained in safe rooms and in other parts of levels. The pistol holds 8 rounds even though it is modeld after the .50 caliber version. The Desert Eagle has more recoil and a slower rate of fire, but much more power than the standerd sidearms. This weapon usually kills common infected with a single shot or knockes them back or down. It also has greater accuracy. You can not dual wield the magnum. :(
Shotguns
Composite shotgun
The shotgun from the first game returns.
Benelli M4 Super 90
The shotgun from the first game another Second Tier weapon, the Benelli M4 in-game has a 10-round magazine and a flashlight clipped to the barrel right in front of the handguard.
Remington 870
A Remington 870 Marine Magnum is seen with a Chrome finish. It is speculated that it's a direct clone of the previous shotgun. It has a vent rib and a ghost ring sight.
Benelli M1014
The combat shotgun from the first game seems to be reintroduced in Left 4 Dead Two. It can be seen in the latest demo video showing the swamp campaign.
Why is this gun here twice? The M4 Super 90 is basically the same thing, so unless they have the USMC issue M1014 and a civilian M4 having it on this page twice is a little redundant.
Both are present in the demo I'm playing right now.
Yeah, I played the demo too. They also have two pump-action composite shotguns that, besides one being chrome, are identical
There's a difference in barrel length as well, and in sights.
There is a difference in damage as well.--Raothi 16:01, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
SPAS 12
The SPAS 12 is featured as the resident Auto Shotgun and used by most of the characters in the E3 Gameplay footage. It carries 10 rounds and uses the same animations from the previous auto shotgun (likely placeholders). Unlike many games, it is fired semi-auto. Recent Gameplay footage has shown that it can also fire incendiary rounds.
SMGs
MAC-10
Seen fitted with the legendary Mitchell Werbell suppressor. It appears to have a flashlight attached to the surpressor with a zip ties. In Demo footage it seems to be able to fire Incendiary type ammunition. It has a 50 round magazine, despite the fact the one used in the game looks no longer than a 30 round magazine. The Incendiary ammo is a pickup, and is available on all weapons if acquired
IMI Uzi
The Uzi from the first game. Seen in the swamp campaign at Nick's back.
MP5A3
Was planned but unconfirmed. This was also planned for the original Left 4 Dead, but neither game includes it. The recent release of the demo contains audio for the weapon.
Rifles
Ruger Mini-14
The Ruger Mini-14 hunting rifle from the previous game is seen in the marsh level. Has same possibility as in Left 4 dead 1.
M16A2
The M-16 from the first game apears in Left 4 Dead 2. It can be seen in the demo video (located on IGN.com) showing the swamp campaign.
AK-47
An AK-47 is seen in the fuselage video. This is not an AKM. This weapon has the milled receiver of the Ak-47. In the demo, released for those who pre-ordered on 10/27/09 and for the public on 10/30/09, the Ak-47 has a 40 round mag, 10 less than the M16.
FN SCAR-L
As of the demo, it appears as though the FN SCAR-L used in the game will be of the Coyote Brown variety. In the demo, it uses a 60 round magazine, and fires in a three-shot burst (although if you keep the trigger depressed, it will fire successive three-shot bursts without the need to pull the trigger again).
HK G3/SG1
A HK G3/SG1 can be seen in the last gameplay video. The HK G3/SG1 will serve as a long range weapon like the Mini-14 from the first game. It seems to carry a 30 round magazine, double than the previous hunting rifle and 10 more than what the usual real life weapon can hold.
- Minor note: The HK G3SG/1, 91 and all variants do have a 30 round magazine that is in use by the German military.--Raothi 19:20, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Other
M79 Grenade Launcher
The M79 Grenade Launcher is seen in latest gameplay video and talked about in an interview with Chet Faliszek, project leader for Left 4 Dead 2.
Pipe Bomb
The pipe bomb from the first game is reintroduced. Like in the first game the pipe bomb has part of a smoke alarm attached to it that beeps. The beep sound atracts the zombie to a explosive demise. Unlike the first game zombie dont just exploded into a cloud of blood, but are tossed up and around from the explosion.
Molotov Cocktail
In one scene, a Molotov cocktail is shown. Re-introduced from the first game.
