To anyone that has read the book, Clancy wrote that most of the reciprocity teams, including Chavez, used MP5SD's. There were also I believe two saw gunners, and the rest had M16A2's. There was never anybody with an M24. Also, they didn't wear woodland, they wore olive drab which after a while blended in better because of local dirt and vegetation. This wasn't a correction of any gun id's, just pointing out that movie directors and armorers don't read books.

The following weapons were used in the film Clear and Present Danger:

When a close friend to the President of the United States' is killed, he covertly declares war on Columbian Drug Cartel Lindo. At the same time, Admiral James Greer (James Earl Jones) is diagonsed with cancer and CIA agent John "Jack" Ryan (Harrison Ford) takes his position as acting deputy director of the CIA. He is lied to when he is promised that there will be a "no-troops" enforcement for aiding Columbia. However, the second acting deputy director of the CIA, James Cutter, hires former CIA agent John Clark (Willem Dafoe) to led a Special Ops team into Columbia. When the team is slaughtered and Ryan discovers the lies, he heads to Columbia to get the surviving members.

M60 Machine Gun

The first M60 machine gun can be seen on the deck of the U.S. Coast Guard cutter when the yacht Enchanter is stopped. An M60E3 with a shortened barrel a la Predator is later seen being used by a member of the Reciprocity team.

M24 Sniper Rifle

The M24 sniper rifle is carried by Domingo Chavez (Raymond Cruz). It is shown fitted with a silencer & camo paint scheme and makes its first appearance in the shooting range scene, and then can be spotted in a few of the scenes involving the Reciprocity team on its mission. Finally it is used in the scenes following the ambush of the reciprocity team. Another member of the Reciprocity team uses this rifle, as Chavez is on a mission.

M16A1/A2 Rifle

At least two members of the reciprocity-team carry M16A1 rifles equipped with A2-style handguards. The soldiers participating in the search-and-evade exercise involving Chavez however are equipped with M16A2's.

Olympic Arms OA-93 Pistol

The Olympic Arms OA-93 Pistol is the peculiar looking "shortened" M16-like weapon carried by John Clark (Willem Dafoe) in the rescue mission.

Several Browning M1919 machine guns can be seen mounted on Colombian military police jeeps in the scenes where Dr. Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford) first arrives in Colombia, and when the ill-fated diplomatic convoy leaves the airport.

Uzi

Several Uzi's are seen in the movie in the hands of Colombian motorcycle police, and also some of Ernesto Escobedo (Miguel Sandoval)'s men. Also, the bouncer of the nightclub where the pilot is recruited from can be seen holding an Uzi.
