The following guns were used in the film Dog Day Afternoon:
M1 Carbine
Sonny Wortzik (Al Pacino) uses a M1 Carbine as his main weapon during the bank robbery, sometimes handing it off to Sal when he would go to talk to the police outside. Several NYPD officers surrounding the bank also carry M1 Carbines, some with extended 30-round magazines.
Smith & Wesson M76
Sal Naturile (John Cazale) uses a shortened Smith & Wesson M76 during the bank robbery.
