The following weapons were used in the third season of the television series Miami Vice:
Sonny Crockett (Don Johnson) carries a Smith & Wesson 645 as his primary weapon during the third and fourth seasons of the show. At the time, it was from Smith & Wesson's brand new line of second generation handguns, as the producers wanted to keep up Crockett carrying a State of the Art pistol.
Detonics Combatmaster
Sonny Crockett (Don Johnson) carries a Detonics Combatmaster as a backup gun, in an ankle holster. In reality the Detonics would have been a substantial handgun to carry in an ankle holster.
Smith & Wesson Model 38 "Bodyguard"
A J-frame Smith & Wesson Model 38 "Bodyguard" revolver, fitted with Pachmayr grips, is carried by Det. Ricardo Tubbs (Philip Michael Thomas) for most of the season. Several characters use Stainless Model 38s throughout the season.
Det. Larry Zito (John Diehl) carries a Smith & Wesson 659 as his sidearm. Several other characters use them throughout the season as well.
Colt Trooper MK V
A 6-inch barrel version of the Colt Trooper MK V fitted with pachmayr grips is used by Lt. Castillo (Edward James Olmos) in most episodes. If it was a Python it would have a full lug running under the barrel. The Mk V had the ventilated top barrel rib and the half lug for the ejector rod.
Several characters throughout the season use Beretta 92Fs.
Custom Richard Heinie M1911A1 Series 80
Max Klizer (Walter Gotell) has a Custom Colt M1911A1 Series 80 in his office in "When Irish Eyes are Crying". The gun, custom made by gunsmith Richard Heinie, appears to have a stainless steel finish, adjustable sights, an extended ambidextrous slide stop safety, a combat hammer, and a compensated longslide.
