the following guns were used in the 2005 short film alive in joburg

this movie was directed by neill blomkamp and produced by sharlto copley. it was made into a feature film district 9 this was a short six minute movie that also featured sharlto copley but not as wikus van der mere. he got the part on d-9 because of his role in this. the aliens in this are slightly differnt but have a huge space suit type thing. it is avalible to watch on google videos.


FN SCAR-l

used by the two soldiers who exit the helicoptor to attack the alien (not 'prawn')

H&K PSG-1

Used by the sniper circleing the city and explaining about the aliens. it is sharlto copley the main character in district 9

Beretta 92FS

used by the police officer's.

AK-47

seen in the back of a car when police pull it over.

Remington 870

a pistol griped remington 870 with wooden furniture was used by the police in the jeep at the start of the film.

MP5A3

used by police for a split second.

Vektor R5

used by soldiers. i assume its the vektor not the galil because just like d-9 the weapon is south african just like the movie. (its in english)

Colt 1911A1

whwn interviewed the manager shows and explains he has protection and a kevlar vest. the gun is shown very very briefly.
