Avenging Force is a 1986 action movie directed by Sam Firstenberg and starring Michael Dudikoff as Matt Hunter, a martial arts expert who comes to the aid of his friend Larry Richards (Steve James) against the right-wing organization called the Pentangle. Both actors also appeared together in two first movies of the American Ninja series.
Avenging Force was intended to be a sequel to Invasion U.S.A. (1985). Chuck Norris was originally planned to return as Matt Hunter but he became tied up on other film productions and Michael Dudikoff was cast instead.
The following weapons are seen in the movie Avenging Force:
Handguns
Beretta 92SB
During the assassination attempt at Mardi Gras in New Orleans two of the four hitmen are armed with Beretta 92SB pistols fitted with rubber aftermarket Pachmayr grips. Matt Hunter (Michael Dudikoff) disarms a hitman and uses his pistol to shoot the others. In the scene in the shooting range all four Pentangle leaders - Elliott Glastenbury (John P. Ryan), Wade Delaney (William Wallace), Jeb Wallace (Karl Johnson) and Charlie Lavall (Marc Alaimo) - are seen with Beretta 92SB pistols. This model can be identified by rounded trigger guard.
Heckler & Koch VP70
During the assassination attempt at Mardi Gras in New Orleans Andrew Parker (Loren Farmer) is armed with Heckler & Koch VP70 pistol.
Intratec TEC-9 Mini
During the second assassination attempt most hitmen are armed with Intratec TEC-9 Mini pistols. Both Matt Hunter (Michael Dudikoff) and Larry Richards (Steve James) use TEC-9s taken from incapacitated hitmen.
Various Revolvers
Several New Orleans police officers and CIA agents carry various revolvers that are seen mostly very briefly and are hard to be identified.
Submachine Guns
Micro Uzi
During the assassination attempt at Mardi Gras in New Orleans two of the four hitmen are armed with Micro Uzi submachine guns. As a rare case in action movies, these two reload their guns after about a 20 seconds of firing.
Uzi
The CIA agents guarding Hunter's ranch are armed with Uzi submachine guns.
Heckler & Koch MP5SD
During the night attack at Hunter's rancho Elliott Glastenbury (John P. Ryan) and Charlie Lavall (Marc Alaimo) are armed with Heckler & Koch MP5SD with extended stock and sniper scope (supposedly this is MP5SD3 version).
Shotguns
Remington Model 870
Wade Delaney's (William Wallace) weapon of choice is a Remington Model 870 shotgun with pistol grip and extended magazine tube. Several hitmen during the second assassination attempt are also armed with such shotguns.
Pump Action Shotgun
Several of Pentangle henchmen are armed with pump action shotguns (or rifles) of various models.
Double Barreled Shotguns
Several of Pentangle henchmen are armed with double barreled shotguns of various models.
Rifles
Winchester Model 70
One of Pentangle henchmen is armed with a Winchester Model 70. It can be identified due to the shape of the bolt handle.
Mosin Nagant Rifle
One of Pentangle henchmen is armed with a Mosin Nagant M1891/30 rifle.
Assault Rifles
Steyr AUG
During the night attack at Hunter's rancho Wade Delaney (William Wallace) is armed with a Steyr AUG.
Other Weapon
Grenade Launcher
During the night attack at Hunter's rancho Charlie Lavall (Marc Alaimo) fires a grenade launcher. It looks similar to Federal Gas Riot Gun but the shape of the barrel is a little different.
AN/M14 Incendiary Grenade
During the night attack at Hunter's rancho one of Pentangle hunters throws an incendiary grenade that looks similar to AN/M14 but is painted in red. It can be a training version of the grenade.
Mk 2 Hand Grenade
During the final hunt Wade Delaney (William Wallace) carries a Mk 2 hand grenade.
